Well, while testing out the new version of Gallery I decided to test the Gallery Remote program by creating a new album and posting the pictures from the IBM Going Away party friends threw for me back in college into it. It worked! 🙂 They can be seen here. Yeah, that trash can punch was something else LOL.

Blog and Gallery software updated to latest versions.
WordPress released version 2.2.1Â yesterday which included some security updates. I have successfully updated my blog to this version as well as updating my plug-ins to their most recent versions.
A new version of Gallery2 was also released a couple days ago. It is now version 2.2.2. My Gallery has been successfully updated as well! 🙂 Must keep them up-to-date to fend off all the bots/spammers/hackers and what not as best as possible!
STS-117 Space Shuttle Atlantis Launch
On June 8th, 2007, the NASA STS-117 Space Shuttle Atlantis was launched successfully to rendezvous with the International Space Station. For those that missed it, here’s a video of it:
During or after watching the video, you can click on the Menu button to see related videos and watch them as well. Note: I take no responsibility for what YouTube might decide is a related video, just in case something unexpected appears. 🙂
I wonder how many people actually knew there was a Space Shuttle launch yesterday? More people probably knew about Paris Hilton being sent back to jail… sad.
I’ve been playing with my Gallery more and added a Nature and Astronomy Album and a Cindy Crawford Album LOL. 🙂
I now have a dedicated Photo Gallery site!
Well, I finally decided to try out one of those Photo Gallery scripts. I am currently playing around with Gallery2 (2.2.1). My gallery can be viewed here: gallery.markheadrick.com. I’ve customized it just enough to not look completely like a default installation LOL, but they all kinda look similar anyway.
What I like about it is that it automatically reads all the EXiF information from the JPG images from my camera plus what I add to it. The images that were scanned in, I added the basic EXiF information such as the actual date the photo was taken if I knew it and description of the image.
I’m still playing around with it, trying this and that plugin to see what it does. Oh the best program I’ve come across for editing EXiF information is Exifer mainly because it’s pretty much free and it seems to work well, even though the last update was in 2002.
I’ve added a new album that isn’t currently on my site. It’s pictures of my vehicles, like my old 1973 Pontiac LeMans! 🙂
At some point I’ll either integrate the albums on to the site here and replace them or I’ll just do away with them and just link to albums on my new gallery. I’ll have to think about it. 🙂 In closing, I hope everyone had a great Memorial Day weekend. (I’ve lost count how many times I’ve come back to edit this… geez I can’t type LOL.)
